SKIN IS MADE UP OF 3 DISTINCT LAYERS
THE EPIDERMIS IS THE OUTER LAYER OF SKIN WHERE VISIBLE SIGNS OF AGING APPEAR.
THE DERMIS IS THE MIDDLE LAYER OF THE SKIN JUST BELOW THE EPIDERMIS, THAT PRODUCES COLLAGEN AND ELASTIN.
BELOW THE DERMIS LIES THE HYPODERMIS, CONSISTING OF A LAYER OF SUBCUTANEOUS FAT. THE DEPTH OF THIS VARIES FROM ONE PERSON TO THE NEXT. IT CONTAINS BLOOD VESSELS AND NERVES. (Avon Skin Care Guide)
